Smallville's Lex Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, will be seen with hair in his new big screen movie 'Kickin It Old Skool', which debuts in theaters on April 27th. Granted, he only grew in his new do for three weeks, so don't expect a substantial different from his usual Smallville smooth. Rosenbaum costars in the film along with Jamie Kennedy, and Maria Menounos. Emmanuel Lewis, David Hasselhoff, and John Ratzenberger, amongst others, make cameos in the comedy.

Kryptonsite.com caught up with Rosenbaum to discuss his big screen turn and what it might mean for him down the road. Rosenbaum has already announced that he will be leaving Smallville in it's seventh season which begins next year. Establishing himself in a successful comedy at this point could give his post Smallville career a good foundation.

When asked about his hair, and the prospects of a big screen career Rosenbaum replied "Yeah! They let me grow it out for about three and a half weeks. So I have a nice buzz cut. It's cool. I think that the fans of Smallville appreciate the contrast to Lex Luthor, and I think they'll have a lot of fun with this character and the movie, and they'll appreciate that I can do other things. They've been supportive in the past, but this one especially, I think it's a movie that everybody - from 13 to 45 or 50 - could really just get a kick out of. I'm excited about that."

The plot of 'Kickin it Old Skool' is very reminiscent, in a way, of the recent hit 'Blades of Glory' with Rosenbaum and Kennedy playing break dancers clinging sadly to the 'cool' skills of their youth. Of course, what is lacking in the comparison is the world around these guys has moved on, so they'll have to really pour it on to get anybody's respect, particularly that of Menounos who sparks something of a Breakdancing war with her affections on the line.
