BackTalk

By ROB ALLSTETTER -- Toyfare #57

Q: Did you play wiht toys growing up?

Michael: Oh yeah! "By the power of Grayskull, I am He-Man!" I was 14 and I told my brother, "I'll play He-Man with you, but don't tell anyone." He looked at me and he goes, "You're asking me to play?" And I'm like, "Just don't say anything to anyone, all right?"

Q: How is it going to feel to have an action figure made of yourself?

Michael: I'm going to jump through walls. I'm definitely going to get a couple and keep them around the house.

Q: If they made an action figure of Michael Rosenbaum, what accessories would it come with?

Michael: I'd have a lot of wigs. I'd have the bald Michael Rosenbaum, spikey-haired Michael Rosenbaum, the long-haired hippie Michael Rosenbaum, and then I'd probably have women's wigs because I've played two drag queens. I'd have a purse, a gun, maybe a lot of credit cards, a pair of Nikes...I'd be a nice package.

Q: If your action figure could talk, what would it say?

Michael: Very simply, "Trust me."

Q: Since you are playing an ultimate villain, whose toy would win in a fight: Yours or Darth Vader's?

Michael: Lex doesn't have a lot of powers; he has people do the work for him. Darth Vader might have a little edge because he's got the grip thing with his hands, and he would pull me right off the ground and break my esophagus. So he might have the edge. But if I had my people...
